dj Courtasock is a dj/turntablist/producer & sounddesigner who’s style can be said to be
‘all things groovey’ . His goal is to explore the turntable as a musical instrument and
this is shown through his numerous collaborations with a various musicians and projects.
He is part of the DjGrazzhoppa’s DJBigband ,Campina Reggae , Beatdrunx and is dj/scratch-teacher @ the Antwerp jazzstudio . 

 

When around 1995 Grazzhoppa & Afterhours mixtapes came to his ears , a serious bug infected dj Courtasocks brain and he started to buy his first records and slowly gathering a set-up to scratch that terrible itch he was suddenly suffering from . Together with tallented friends he formed the Cloud 9 collective whom started doing Hip-Hop shows in close collaboraton with their Fab Fudge friends . In 2002 he was runnner up in the Benelux DMC battle . To fullfill his growing funkey needs Courtasock in 2002 started jammin’ with the instrumental funkband ‘Muzzle’ then renamed ‘The lightning Brothers’ and in 2004 they recorded the ‘ Funk Explorer’ E.P.Lateron the Muzzle dudes got integrated into the Jazzalude project ,a 13 piece band playing funk and soul gems ,releasing one mini E.P. called ‘T-Wood SoulStew’. It was in 2004 that Courtasock was part of the 6 dj expansion of Grazz’ DJBigband . In 2009 they toured with their third creation,the ‘Around the world in 80 beats’ -tour.Also the DVD of theDJGrazzhoppa’sdjbigband VS Aka Moon was put out recently. In 2006 the ‘Beatdrunx’ project came to life in the form of an E.P. and an album produced by the One Cell Parasite ,the rhymes delivered by Rub and Acrid Cast and the turntable interventions operated by Courtasock. Their second album ‘Moment of Clarity ‘ was released in 2010 .

Also in 2006 he  became part of Campina Reggae as the secret weapon of the flamish reggae-band.

They released 2 albums and a couple of singles as Campina Soundsystem.

Dj Courtasock played a host of venues throughout the entire country occasionally teaming up with dj’s on various styles like hip-hop,funk,soul,reggae, latinbossagroove,jazz,breakbeat,popcorn and a wholelot of weirdness. He opened up , or did afterparties for acts like :
